Steps
Seller opens Xbox account settings
Go to account.xbox.com or Xbox settings on console. Navigate to Gamertag.
Seller changes to a temporary gamertag
Change the gamertag to any temporary name. If this is their second+ change, it costs $9.99.
Buyer claims the freed gamertag
Buyer goes to their Xbox account settings and sets the freed gamertag as their new one.
Verify on Xbox Live
Confirm the gamertag shows correctly across Xbox.com, console, and any linked apps.
Confirm in ExchangeHandles
Buyer confirms receipt in escrow to release payment.
